We organise collections and distribution of ex-battery hens for the Battery Hen WelfareEx battery hens Trust, (BHWT).  We are the charity's only co-ordinators in Scotland.  You can see some of the publicity we have achieved here.

If you are looking to give an ex-battery hen a new life, it is vital that you learn more from the wealth of information on the BHWT website.

You need to register through the site, by filling in some basic details about yourself and your hen-keeping set up.

Then you need to email us to say how many hens you would like to re-home.  We will then get in touch before the next re-homing and organise how and when you will collect your hens. This will be on a weekend.

You must make sure that your enclosure is fox-proof.

Countless people say: "We don't have any foxes around us."  This is simply NOT TRUE.

Answers to some regularly asked questions

  • The hens are between 18 months and two years old.
  • We are volunteers working for a charity - all donations go to the BHWT.
  • Please don't ask where they come from - we will not tell you.
  • We do not keep them here for any longer than we possibly have to.
  • We are not a battery farm ourselves.
